CANBY SWIM CLUB…2012-13 ‘FUN’DRAISING
There is no CLUB without U…
Like most sports teams, dues and pool fees cover only part of our team’s budget each year. This year, our team is counting on fundraising to cover nearly 40% of our budget. Fundraising goes beyond just paying our expenses – it creates a cushion which allows us to get through lean years and to pay for the purchase of new equipment when it needs to be replaced. While many swim teams operate in the red year after year, the strong fundraising program at the Canby Swim Club keeps us comfortably afloat.
All members are responsible for fundraising. This includes volunteering at group fundraisers like meets and the Annual Gator Grinder, as well as participating in the Swim-a-thon and individual sales fundraisers. This year we will offer more opportunities for members to support the team, including amazing prizes for top Swim-a-thon fundraisers. Here is an outline of this year’s fundraisers:
A. Group Fundraisers (Volunteer Participation Requirement)
1. Gator Grinder Triathlon (One day in May brings in about 25% of our total goal…required volunteer participation or $150 non-participation fee)
2. Swim Meets (10 hours minimum required volunteer participation at home or high school meets or $10/hour non-participation fee)
3. Gear Store (Available on the website for practice gear only)
4. Rummage Sale, Car Wash, Dine-in Nights (as organized)
B. Individual Fundraisers ($200 minimum Fundraising Requirement)
1. Year Round
a. Beachbody (Products such as Shakeology earn 25% for the club)
b. PartyLite Candles (Purchase or sell for gifts and earn 50% for the club)
2. Once per Year/Seasonal
a. Swim-a-thon (Win a Samsung Tablet, a Kindle Fire or 6 months free dues!)
b. Fall sales - Poinsettia Sale, Wreath Sale, Pajama Fundraiser
c. Valentine’s Meet Heat Sheet Ad Sales
d. Spring sales - Hanging Basket Sale and more
