| CHS Freshman wins Gator Grinder Shirt Design Contest! | |
|
Jan 22, 2010 |
Michaela Huserik, a freshman at Canby High
School, has designed the 2010 Gator Grinder Triathlon race
shirt!
This year, the Gator Grinder race committee decided to tap into
the local talent at Canby High School, and sponsor a shirt design
contest. About 50 students in Anna Haberlach's Graphic Design
classes participated in the competition. Students were given
the critieria for the shirt and the rest was left up to them.
Students were required to use their own designs and could not
include elements downloaded from the internet or elsewhere.
Michaela's artwork was chosen for this year's shirt. Her design was very original, bold, and clean. She was excited to get some of her artwork out in the public eye and thought designing a "real" shirt would be a fun way to do it. Michaela really likes to draw, but she also loves to dance and play soccer in her free time. She also wants to continue taking Graphic Design course at the high school. Michaela won a $50 gift certificate to Team Spirit and of course, will receive a race shirt with her design!
Second place winner Rayven Groat and third
place winner Azael Torres both received $25 gift certificates to
Team Spirit. The Canby Swim Club and the Gator Grinder Race Committee wish to extend their thanks to Ms. Anna Haberlach and all of her Graphic Design students for their willingness to participate and contribute to the 2010 Gator Grinder. We look forward to seeing what her students will come up with for 2011!
