| Important Note from our Meet Director | |
|
Jan 24, 2012 |
Gator families, our Meet season is coming to a close. We have one High School Meet, and our BIGGEST Swim Meet of all…The Valentine Invitational. The same day as our Valentine Meet, we also have the Animal Masters Meet. So what I’m getting at is this, We need a lot of help to make the Valentine a success. So if you have not signed up to volunteer yet and you still need some hours please check to see what jobs are still available. We are expecting this meet to conclude by 1:30.
The Masters Meet will start at 2:30. The Masters Meet is a fun one to work because the swimmers are ages from 20-85. This is a very fun and low key meet. Athletes will be swimming 3 events which is their version of our Animal meet. The Masters Swimming Association pays us to host this meet. So again, if you can please sign-up to volunteer it will help make our meets to run smoothly.
We still have many positions left to fill that are very easy...deck marshal and meet set-up are great because your job is done before the meet starts so you do not miss seeing your swimmer swim. We still need timers for the High School meet next week and we are still in need of more hospitality donations.
I would like to leave you with a few words of advice when it comes to the Valentine Meet. For you new swim families, this meet is large we have around 200 swimmers (our last meet at home with Forest Grove was less than 100). Please get there early if you would like a good seat. If you have family coming to watch it’s also a good idea for them to come early to get their seats. If you have any questions or concerns don’t hesitate to contact me 503-263-8813 or e-mail me at hestershelly@canby.com.
Thank You for all you do for our team!
Shelly Hester
