The Ten and
under State Long Course Championships were held in Albany on July
10th and 11th at South Albany High
School. Six Canby Swimmers qualified for the meet. The
Gators swimmers swam to 86% best times at the meet and three scored
points individually. Kaitlyn Hester swam to five best times
in six swims and placed in five events. She was
16th in the 200 free and 100 back, 14th in
the 50 back 11th in the 100 free and 8th in
the 50 free. Kylie Hester finished 10th in the 50
back and dropped 4 ½ seconds. Alisha Issa finished
with four best times in four events. She placed 13th in
the 50 free and 50 fly and 10th in the 100 free.
Erin Meredith shaved 1 ½ seconds off her 50 back and
finished in 18th place. Amanda Moses finished
21st in the 50 and 100 free, while dropping a second in
the 50 free. Kaitlyn Hester, Alisha Issa, Amanda Moses and
Sierra Erwert teamed up on two relays. The 200 Medley
relay finished 16th with a time of 3:13.72 and the 200
free relay finished 8th in a time of
2:38.34.
