Gators Earn State Times at CAT

Canby Swim Club competed at the CAT A/B Open meet in Corvallis May 14-16.  The Gators had many good results as eight Gators qualified for state and most earned best times.  State qualifiers for the Gators were Jessi Broberg in the 200 Fly, Michael Hargitt in the 200 IM, 100 Back, 200 Breast and 400 IM, Kaitlyn Hester earned her state time in the 100 Fly, Kylie Hester made a state time in the 50 back.  Alisha Issa qualified in the 50 Fly, 50 Back, and the 50 Free, Amanda Moses earned state times in the 50 Fly and the 50 Free and 100 Free, Casey O’Brien finished with a state time in the 100 Fly and Luke Welle earned a state time in the 200 Fly.  

Finishing with all best times: Samantha Ingle dropped 20 seconds, Alisha Issa who dropped 26 seconds and Wesley Norris who dropped 17 seconds. Luke Welle earned three best times, Veronica Norris earned three best times, Amanda Moses had four best times including a 16 second drop in her 200 free. Kylie Hester had two best times and dropped 5 seconds. Kaitlyn Hester dropped time in four events and dropped well over a minute overall. Alex Hendrick dropped time in four events with a six second drop in the 400 free and Michael Haring had two best times and Sarah Norris swam to a season best time in the 50 back.

Eight Canby Gators earned individual points at the meet; Jessi Broberg, Michael Hargitt, Kaitlyn Hester, Kylie Hester, Alisha Issa, Amanda Moses, Casey O’Brien and Luke Welle.
