Thirty Three Gators Swim the Animal Meet!

The Canby Gators loaded up the Canby Animal Meet on Saturday, December 19. It is great to see so many swimmers from the home team swimming in the challenging Animal Meet. Thirty-three Gators in the meet was outstanding, especially when twenty-two of them also swam to all best times in the meet. 10 Gators swam to state qualifying times It was a great showing all the way around the team.

Swimmers with all best times were: Halley Becker, Cole Derisio, Jacqueline Formick, Samantha Ingle, Alisha Issa, Carson Manning, Olivia McKenzie, Rachel McKenzie, Amanda Moses, Alex Olsen, Zach Scroggy, Harrison Sowle-Kinney, Hayden Sowle-Kinney, Leah Halderman, Bryon Langford, Dean Mischell, Dane Yu, Carrie Kralovec had three best times and dropped over a minute. Madeline Meredith and Amanda Moore each had three best times and dropped 1 ½ minutes, Trystan Given and Alex Hendrick both had three best times and dropped 2 minutes. Jessi Broberg swam to two best times. Ross Brown and Michael Haring both swam to two best times and dropped 1 ½ minutes.

Canby Gators with State Qualifying times in the Animal Meet were: Kaitlyn Hester, Noah Norris, Zach Scroggy, Michael Hargitt, Carrie Kralovec, Dean Mischell, Casey O’Brien, Spencer Polack, Samantha Smith and Luke Welle.

Finishing in the top ten were: Noah Norris with two 2^nd places and one third, Kayley Guay finished with two fourth places, Michael Hargitt was 1^st in the 1000 free and 2^nd in the 400 IM, and 200 fly. Carrie Kralovec finished 7^th in the 400 IM, and 6^th in the 200 fly and 1000 free, Jessi Broberg finished 8^th in the 400 IM, 7^th in the 1000 free and 5^th in the 200 fly. Ross Brown was 5^th in the 1000 free and 7^th in the 400 IM in 200 fly, Alex Hendrick finished 8^th in the 1000 free. Casey O’Brien finished6th in the 1000 free, 5^th in the 400 IM and 3^rd in the 200 fly, Spencer Polack earned 3^rd in the 1000 free and 4^th in the 400 IM and 200 fly, Luke Welle was 5^th in the 200 fly, 3^rd in the 200 IM, and 2^nd in the 1000 free, Samantha Smith finished 3^rd in the 1000 free, 1^st in the 400 IM and 1^st in the 200 fly.
