The
Canby Gators loaded up the Canby Animal Meet on Saturday, December
19. It is great to see so many swimmers from the home team swimming
in the challenging Animal Meet. Thirty-three Gators in the meet was
outstanding, especially when twenty-two of them also swam to all
best times in the meet. 10 Gators swam to state qualifying times It
was a great showing all the way around the team.
Swimmers with all best times were: Halley
Becker, Cole Derisio, Jacqueline Formick, Samantha Ingle, Alisha
Issa, Carson Manning, Olivia McKenzie, Rachel McKenzie, Amanda
Moses, Alex Olsen, Zach Scroggy, Harrison Sowle-Kinney, Hayden
Sowle-Kinney, Leah Halderman, Bryon Langford, Dean Mischell, Dane
Yu, Carrie Kralovec had three best times and dropped over a minute.
Madeline Meredith and Amanda Moore each had three best times and
dropped 1 ½ minutes, Trystan Given and Alex Hendrick both
had three best times and dropped 2 minutes. Jessi Broberg swam to
two best times. Ross Brown and Michael Haring both swam to two best
times and dropped 1 ½ minutes.

Gators with State Qualifying times in the Animal Meet were: Kaitlyn
Hester, Noah Norris, Zach Scroggy, Michael Hargitt, Carrie
Kralovec, Dean Mischell, Casey O’Brien, Spencer Polack,
Samantha Smith and Luke Welle.
Finishing in the top ten were: Noah Norris with
two 2nd places and one third, Kayley Guay finished with
two fourth places, Michael Hargitt was 1st in the 1000
free and 2nd in the 400 IM, and 200 fly. Carrie Kralovec
finished 7th in the 400 IM, and 6th in the
200 fly and 1000 free, Jessi Broberg finished 8th in the
400 IM, 7th in the 1000 free and 5th in the
200 fly. Ross Brown was 5th in the 1000 free and
7th in the 400 IM in 200 fly, Alex Hendrick finished
8th in the 1000 free. Casey O’Brien finished6th in
the 1000 free, 5th in the 400 IM and 3rd in
the 200 fly, Spencer Polack earned 3rd in the 1000 free
and 4th in the 400 IM and 200 fly, Luke Welle was
5th in the 200 fly, 3rd in the 200 IM, and
2nd in the 1000 free, Samantha Smith finished
3rd in the 1000 free, 1st in the 400 IM and
1st in the 200 fly.
